Qualitative Analysis of the Patella Following a Quadriceps Tendon Bone Autograft with a Bone Plug

<-- Back to Current Projects

An analysis was performed to address the known morbidity of patellar fracture following ACL reconstruction. The purpose of the project was to determine the geometric and stress factors responsible for increasing the risk of a patellar fracture following harvest of a QTB graft, in order to provide surgeons recommendations on how to improve the QTB graft procedure to minimize this occurrence. Our findings suggest a harvest too deep and taken too laterally increases the risk for a patellar fracture occurring. Abstracts with our findings will be presented at the 2014 ORS and ESSKA meetings.
